Under the Sicilian sun.

All good things come to an end and it couldn’t be otherwise with my trip through Italy.

The sad events in France and the mass of work awaiting me in Paris, made it quite natural to go back with memories to the last, and also the shortest stage of the Italian journey – the stay in Catania, Sicily.

Located at the foot of Mount Etna, Catania delights with beautiful architecture and abundant vegetation. An ideal place to take pictures, if it wasn’t for the heat, litterally pouring from the sky. In July, Catania gives a totally new meaning to the notion of scorcher. Deserted streets, rare tourists hiding in the shadows that are getting even more rare with the sun hitting mercilessly, closed bars and restaurants – that’s how I’d describe a very special atmosphere in Catania, which I had previously experienced only in the south of Spain.

In such conditions, all kinds of shadow are priceless. If you have never walked down the street thinking carefully of how to make your way down and be up in the shade at the same time, well, it means that you’ve never experienced the real swelter...
